JMFyang deliver fresh spin on two of her iconic roles.
Veteran actress Maricel Soriano expressed admiration for rising tandem JM Ibarra and Fyang Smith after the two showcased their acting skills during a guest appearance on her vlog.
Known collectively by fans as JMFyang, the pair joined the Diamond Star for an intimate acting workshop where they were challenged to portray iconic characters from some of Soriano’s most memorable films.
Fyang stepped into the emotional role of Terry from the classic film “Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin,” while JM transformed into Yolanda Filipinas, one of Soriano’s most recognizable characters from “Filipinas.”
Impressed by their performances, Soriano openly praised the two on X, saying: “These two are different,” noting their natural emotions and strong screen presence despite being newcomers in the industry.
The veteran actress also shared on her X account how amazed she was by the pair’s dedication despite their packed schedules. “I-chika ko lang sa inyo! Mas nakaka-amaze na ready sa actingan yung dalawa kahit pagod na pagod! Bago ‘yong shoot namin, galing pa sila sa isang mall event, then may event pa ulit after ng vlog! Bong is ga, ‘di ba?” she wrote.
Clips from the workshop quickly circulated online, with supporters praising the duo’s chemistry and emotional delivery. Many fans also pointed out how the workshop proved the pair’s potential beyond loveteam appeal.
With the Diamond Star herself recognizing their talent, fans are now left wondering: could this be the first sign of an iconic future movie featuring JMFyang and Maricel Soriano together?
