Claudine Co cafe’s Instagram goes private after reported dissapearance

The reported takedown came following renewed criticism about Claudine, as she reportedly opened a branch of her cafe in Legazpi City—months after the online backlash tied to her family’s flood control controversy.

Her father, Christopher Co, is the founder of Hi-Tone Construction and Development Corporation, which was among the top contractors flagged by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

She is also the niece of former congressman Zaldy Co, who went into hiding abroad as the flood control scandal intensified. He later resigned from his post in September 2025 amid mounting pressure from colleagues.

Claudine, meanwhile, came under public scrutiny after online discussions linked her wealth and her lavish lifestyle—as seen in her content—to the broader conversation about anomalous flood control projects.

However, there are no verified reports showing that Almighty Matcha itself was funded by those contracts or that Co’s business was directly involved in the projects.

As criticism spread online, some users called for a boycott of the cafe and encouraged others to report its social media accounts.

A Reddit thread later claimed that Almighty Matcha’s Instagram account had returned after being unavailable, suggesting that the page may have been temporarily removed or deactivated.

The cafe’s Google Maps page also drew attention after users shared a review accusing the business of being “a laundered business paid for by taxpayers’ money.” The allegation has not been substantiated.

Another Reddit post later shared screenshots allegedly showing reports filed against the cafe’s Instagram account. The discussion drew mixed reactions, with some users celebrating the possibility of the account being removed.

“Alam naman nating hindi naman yan makakaapekto sa kanila,” one user wrote. “Pero ang satisfying lang. Deserve nila mawalan ng platform at malugi.”

Other users urged people to continue reporting similar accounts, while some noted the difficulty of permanently removing pages from social media platforms.

As of press time, Almighty Matcha maintains only a private Instagram account despite repeated reports of deletion. Co has not publicly addressed the reported takedown of the criticism surrounding her cafe.
