Khalil Ramos embraces BL-themed ‘Patay Gutom,’ game for male kissing scene

For Khalil, taking on an unconventional role also comes with the support of his longtime girlfriend, Gabbi Garcia, who he said was excited after seeing the film’s teaser.

“She’s actually very excited nang nakita niya ang teaser. The both of us were very much excited to see it. Hopefully, we get to attend the premiere,” he shared.

The film also teases a kissing scene between Khalil and a male actor, something he is willing to do if it serves the story.

“As long as the script goes for it, I am a firm believer na story is king, and the scene is required to communicate the truth, and that’s good,” Khalil said.

Beyond “Patay Gutom,” Khalil is also grateful to have several projects lined up this month, seeing the opportunities as a sign of continued trust from productions despite the current state of the local entertainment industry.

“Super blessed sa lahat ng nakakatrabaho kong productions, thankful pa rin ako na may tiwala pa sila sa talento ko. In the current state of our industry, sobrang swerte ko na may isang project, pero ngayon sa buwan na ’to, currently I have three, which I am super grateful to be part of these projects,” he said.

Khalil is also set to share the screen with #BarbieForteza, who previously described him as her “best leading man,” a compliment he received with humility.

“I’m super flattered. Ako naman, in my opinion, I’m just doing the best I can as her on-screen partner, the bare minimum. And if that’s what she feels, I’m super thankful na iyon ang naramdaman niya,” he said.

Rather than taking the praise solely for himself, Khalil credited Barbie for making their on-screen partnership work.

“But in an on-screen partnership, it takes two for it to work. So I pass on the praise to her. I wouldn’t be able to excel if it weren’t for her generosity as an actor as well,” he added.

With “Patay Gutom,” Khalil continues to take on challenging roles while building meaningful on-screen partnerships.

The 2026 Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival runs from September 23 to October 4 across select cinemas.
