The comedian marks another year with gratitude as she continues cancer treatment.
Comedian Ate Gay, who has been battling cancer since September 2025, said her doctor initially told her she would not make it to 2026. Today, the TV personality, whose real name is Gil Aducal Morales, is celebrating another birthday.
“Sabi ng Doctor ko Nung una ‘di na ako aabot ng 2026 ..aba aba aba at eto abot ako sa Birthday ko,” Ate Gay shared.
“Salamat sa inyong lahat lalo na sa mga Anghel ko at Kay Lord Jesus… salamat,” she added.
As part of her birthday milestone, Ate Gay recently visited the National Shrine and Parish of Saint Padre Pio in Santo Tomas, Batangas. Her first visit turned emotional when she suddenly broke down in tears upon sitting inside the church.
“Kahapon, first time kong dumalaw kay Padre Pio sa Sto. Tomas, Batangas. Pag-upong pag-upo ko sa simbahan, agad akong napahagulhol sa iyak,” Ate Gay wrote. “Humagulhol ako nang pabigla, ’di ko alam kung bakit. Ang hiling ko, lahat ng may cancer ay gumaling at lahat ng may karamdaman.”
Ate Gay publicly disclosed her cancer diagnosis in September 2025 through “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho,” revealing that she had mucoepidermoid squamous cell carcinoma.
In July 2026, Ate Gay shared that she was still undergoing treatment through CyberKnife radiation and immunotherapy while noting an improvement in her physical condition.
“Di pa po ako cancer free… pero malakas na ako at nagkakalaman na ang aking pangangatawan,” Ate Gay shared.
For Ate Gay, reaching another birthday marks a significant milestone amid her continuing cancer treatment, serving as a celebration of life, gratitude, and hope for more birthdays ahead.
