The actress shares a playful moment at the premiere screening for their movie “Life After You.”

Actress Bela Padilla felt the love and support of her friends and loved ones as she walked down the red carpet for the advance premiere of her upcoming movie with Diamond Star Maricel Soriano, “Life After You.”

Speaking with the press, Bela shared that “Life After You” is a family movie that is best enjoyed with family and loved ones in cinemas.

“Ang mga ganitong klaseng pelikulang pang-pamilya masarap panoorin sa sinehan, ‘yong sabay-sabay kayong magbibihis, bibili ng popcorn tapos magdi-date kayo ng pamilya n’yo or ng loved one n’yo, magiging event siya,” she shared.

As she spoke to the press, Bela was jokingly asked who she would be bringing as her date to the premiere. She simply quipped: “Meron! Si Inay Marya (Soriano) ang date ko tonight. Kaya, magkatabi kami later,” she smilingly shared.

The question came after her rumored boyfriend, Martin Tan, was spotted in the crowd holding a flower while waiting for her arrival on the red carpet.

Meanwhile, Maricel shared her thoughts on Bela’s love life. “Kapag nagka-jowa si Bela sasabihin niya sa akin,” Maricel shared. “Ay kailangan i-approve ko.”

Maricel plays Bella, a widow, mother, and grandmother determined to be part of her granddaughter Denise’s life. Bela portrays Joey, a devoted sister and aunt who has put her own dreams aside to care for her niece.

Denise (Dani Zee) is Joey’s niece and the daughter of Dianne (Ryza Cenon). She is also Bella’s granddaughter through her son Carl (Marlo Mortel), who refuses to acknowledge Denise as his child.

The complicated family dynamic fuels the conflict. Joey and Dianne resent Bella for failing to make Carl accept Denise. But after an unexpected tragedy, Bella and Joey are forced into each other’s orbit.

Joey eventually learns that Bella secretly considers Denise her granddaughter and wants to remain part of the child’s life without Carl knowing. The two women decide to share the responsibility of caring for Denise, slowly turning their strained relationship into an unexpected friendship.

That bond, however, is put to the test when Carl eventually discovers their secret.

Also part of the cast are Krissha Viaje, MJ Cayabyab, Andrea Babierra, Peach Caparas, Gardo Versoza, and Rey PJ Abellana.

Directed by Marla Ancheta, “Life After You” opens in cinemas on September 9, with discounted tickets available at selected cinemas.
