Davao del Norte students’ gesture of kindness earns praise from teachers and parents.

Some battles are fought in silence, but you don’t have to face them alone.

This was how the class section described their gesture of support for a classmate in a Facebook post that has since gone viral.

In a video from the Facebook page XII-Aguinaldo of Carmen National High School in Davao del Norte, students are seen putting notes, food and school supplies into a box dedicated to a classmate named Dapitan.

“To Dapitan: We may not solve everything, but we hope this brings you a little comfort,” was the note written on the box, signed by his classmates.

The video showed Dapitan being emotional and comforted by his classmates, while some were later shown clapping and wiping their tears.

The post’s caption also wrote a dedication for Dapitan, who was also called Daps.

“[W]e pray that God gives you strength, peace, and hope in every step you take. May this small gesture remind you that your 𝑿𝑰𝑰 𝑨𝒈𝒖𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒅𝒐 𝒇𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒚 is always here for you,” the post wrote, also quoting the Bible verse 1 Peter 5:7, “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”

Many comments commended the class and praised their kindness, as well as their adviser and parents.

“He is so blessed to have classmates who are genuinely sharing their blessings. Kudos to their parents for raising them very well. Naiyak ako 🥹,” one user commented.

In the captions of the video’s public shares, other students reflected on experiences when they also gave or received support from classmates, while teachers expressed hope for more students to exhibit the same attitude.

“As a teacher who knows that bullying is still a problem in schools, this made me cry. Everyone is going through something we know nothing about,” a caption in one public share said. “Bukod sa pagkain o mga materyal na bagay, libre lang ang maging mabuti.”
