Erwan Heussaff answers a tough question, and sparks bigger discussion.

Content creator and food enthusiast Erwan Heussaff is receiving praise on social media after responding to fellow content creator Zac Alvis.

On Threads, Zac posed a thought-provoking question to his followers: “Is it really worth throwing away years of friendship because you have different political opinions?”—a question that prompted Erwan to share his perspective.

“Political opinions, no. But if it crosses into moral territory, yes,” said Erwan.

“If someone was the most charitable person you knew, but was also a known sexual abuser. If you can tolerate that and support that person, it says a lot about one’s moral character…”

According to Erwan, it is also a “red flag” if a person can only say positive things about their chosen politicians, stressing that no one is perfect.

“Another red flag is if a person can only say positive things about their chosen politicians. We all know no one is perfect or even close to it, so if you can’t challenge your own beliefs, we can’t be friends. We should constantly practice discernment, not blindly defend the people we support, but regularly question whether our choices still align with our values,” he added.

In the comment section, Erwan received praise for his opinion. One netizen wrote, “Haaay Erwan, pahalik nga. Ang cute-cute mo. Tama ka ng napili @annecurtissmith,” while another commented, “Anne’s so lucky to have you, Erwan.” Others echoed their support, saying, “Let him cook! Both in the kitchen and in public forums.”

The discussion comes at a timely moment following the alleged incident at the Senate office, which reportedly put several media personnel at risk after gunfire erupted within the building premises during an attempt to serve a warrant reportedly linked to the International Criminal Court’s move involving Sen. Roland “Bato” dela Rosa.
