New stations roll out in key cities through partnerships with energy providers

More Filipinos are eyeing electric vehicles or EVs as a practical way to get around while fuel prices remain elevated. But the question remains: where do you charge them?

The lack of visible and reliable charging points continues to hold back wider adoption of EVs.

To help strengthen the country’s EV charging infrastructure, Robinsons Land Corporation has announced the expansion of its charging network. Stations are now available in Opus Mall and Robinsons malls in Galleria, Manila, Magnolia, Tagaytay, Iloilo, Pagadian, Dumaguete, Roxas City, and Ilocos Norte.

More stations are planned for Robinsons La Union, Tuguegarao, Santiago, Antique, Iligan, Valencia, and Butuan, through partnerships with Meralco, Shell Recharge, ACMobility, and Tesla.

The setup allows EV drivers to charge while shopping or dining, with 22 kW chargers designed for a few hours of top-up, payable through the Evro app.

Compared to global standards, charging stations in the country remain limited, pointing to more room for expansion as companies build out infrastructure and push electric mobility closer to everyday use for Filipino motorists.
