Diesel prices climb by ₱2.60/L as kerosene also gets a ₱1/L cut.
Motorists will get a substantial break on gasoline prices on Tuesday, October 20, with pump prices set to drop by ₱4.30 per liter even as diesel prices climb by ₱2.60 per liter.
Based on the latest Department of Energy (DOE) computation, kerosene prices will also roll back by ₱1.00 per liter. The adjustments will take effect on October 20, 6 a.m.
The gasoline rollback follows last week’s ₱1.56-per-liter increase. On October 13, diesel prices dropped by ₱3.01 per liter, while kerosene prices rose by ₱1.77 per liter.
Following the latest adjustments, unleaded gasoline prices are projected to average ₱88.60 per liter, down from ₱92.90, while diesel prices are expected to average ₱94.25 per liter, up from ₱91.65. These averages may vary across fuel stations.
As of press time, oil companies have yet to release their respective advisories for the week’s price changes. Actual adjustments could vary by company and fuel product, although oil firms have generally stayed close to DOE-computed figures in previous price adjustments.
