Singer urges fans to chill and respect interpretations after BL speculation over “habangbuhay pansamantala” music video.
“‘Wag kayong OA. Chill lang, guys,” singer-songwriter Maki said, addressing fans “shipping” him and Justin de Dios after their recent collaboration in the music video for “habangbuhay pansamantala” during a media conference following its release.
Maki added that audience interpretations are ultimately beyond the creators’ control. He noted that many filmmakers intentionally leave stories open-ended, allowing viewers to find their own meaning in the work.
“For me, ang interpretation kasi ng tao, that’s out of my control. Kami, we just did what we love at kung ano ang bagay sa concept,” he explained.
While expressing openness to different perspectives and interpretations of the music video, Maki emphasized that there should be limits when discussions turn negative. He added that people are free to interpret the project in their own way, but bashing and canceling others should never be accepted.
The artist’s remarks come as fans continue to discuss the themes and symbolism behind “habang pansamantala,” with many sharing varying takes on the story portrayed in the video.
