Xyriel vows transparency on cosmetic enhancements, embraces team spirit in ‘Stuck on You’

“Mag three years na po ang enhancement ko and I’m very vocal, and I also did a vlog about it nasa bio ko po. Kung sino ang doctor and kung ano ang procedure. I never hide naman anything na ginagawa ko with myself to enhance and to embrace my confidence. It’s not a secret naman po,” she said.

Manabat even turned the question into a lighthearted moment when asked if viewers might notice something different about her face in the movie.

“Kung may napansin man sila sa movie hindi ko alam siguro baka ang bangs? Or pimples kasi may breakout ako buong movie. May mga scenes diyan dumudugo ang mukha ko. Grabe ang pimples ko po talaga,” she shared.

In “Stuck on You,” Manabat plays the lighthearted manicurist Sheryl Bunga opposite River Joseph as Max de Dios, giving her a welcome breather from her usual dramatic roles.

“Actually hindi (struggle). Palagi ko sinasabi kila direk na sobrang grateful ako sa kanila dahil sila ang naging breather ko. Sila ang nagbihay ng lightness sa work ko kasi pinagsasabay ko ang work, pero sa kanila, ang saya, ang dali at ang gaan nila katrabaho,” Manabat said.

Her relaxed experience on the set also reflects her approach to acting. When asked whether she believes her performance as Sheryl could merit an award, Manabat refused to make that decision for herself.

“Ang lagi naman nating goal kapag binigyan tayo ng acting piece is ibigay lang natin ang gusto ni direk, and hindi para sa atin. Kung pang-award ba or hindi, nasa mga huhusga na iyon. 

Palagi naman tayong nagpe-pray for recognition and awards, pero hindi para i-claim natin agad dahil lahat ng gumanap dito sa festival are really qualified to receive recognition and award,” she said.

For Manabat, her responsibility is to bring the character to life and work as a team with her leading man, while allowing audiences to decide how they receive their performance.

“Partner kami sa paggawa at pagbigay buhay sa characters namin dito pero nasa inyo na po kung paano niyo ita-translate after ninyo mapanood ang movie,” she added.
