Drag icon-turned-recording artist says new EP reflects identity, truth, and growth.
“We’re creating a new female pop star. You’re in the presence of a future female pop star.”
That’s how international drag icon and recording artist Marina Summers confidently put it as she prepares to open up through an upcoming EP that dives into her experiences as a trans woman.
In an interview with Billboard Philippines, alongside Cup of Joe frontman Gian Bernardino and influencer-turned-artist Sassa Gurl, Marina shared details about the project, which comes after a major personal milestone as a drag artist.Â
In February, Marina publicly came out as a trans woman, revealing she had actually begun her transition journey in 2025.
Since embracing her truth, she’s stepped into a bold new era, marked by the release of her single “Eabab,” where she flexes her range with a mix of pop and R&B/soul.
With the EP on the way, Marina is set to channel her freedom, authenticity, and the complexities of her journey into music that feels more personal than ever.
