Albie Casiño denies split with fiancée, opens up on challenges of long-distance setup

Asked if everything was still okay between him and his fiancée, Albie gave a firm response during the media conference for his upcoming VMX film “Hibla 2,” directed by Topel Lee.

“Oo naman,” he said. “At the same time, ’di ba kani-kaniyang relationship tayo? Kahit naman anong pakialam nila sa relationship ko, relationship ko iyan e. And we have a kid.”

The actor also shared that he is preparing to return to the United States, where Michellina and their son are currently based.

Albie admitted that maintaining a long-distance relationship has been challenging, especially because of the time difference between the Philippines and the United States. With his hectic filming schedule, finding time to connect with his family is not always easy.

“Ang hirap din kasi baligtad nga busy hours ko. Ayon ang puwede silang makipag-usap, like when I’m on the set. Sometimes, they’re calling, like I can’t because I’m on the set nga. Hindi ko pa nga sila nakakausap for Father’s Day e,” he shared.

As for wedding preparations, Albie revealed that the couple is taking things one step at a time due to logistical and immigration concerns. He explained that processing documents while living in separate countries has made planning more complicated and expensive.

“Again, ang hirap at this time. If we process and if I come back here for a long time—not a long time, but during the process—I can’t go back here. And if we process that here, it’s gonna take so much longer. Ang gastos ng kasal, ang mahal.”

Despite putting their wedding plans on hold for now, Albie emphasized that there is no problem in their relationship and that their focus remains on their growing family.

Meanwhile, the actor also addressed his decision to continue accepting daring projects, including VMX films. “Hibla 2,” which also stars Ghion Espinosa, Aliya Raymundo, and Margaret Diaz, is a remake of the 2002 Viva Films erotic drama “Hibla,” originally directed by Yam Laranas.

Despite appearing in numerous mainstream television and film projects throughout his career, Albie said he remains open to roles that allow him to explore his craft while providing for his family.

“It’s work. I’m not someone who turns down work. I’ve been doing this for 15 years already. It’s really a job for me at this point. I’m looking at it as a paycheck and at the same time, in all projects, ganun naman talaga. I’m at this point in my life na this is how I earn money and I can’t be turning down projects,” he explained.

Albie publicly introduced Michellina as his girlfriend in May 2023 through a series of photos on Instagram. In June 2024, he revealed that they had welcomed their son, Roman Andrew.

Michellina, an American citizen, gave birth in the United States. In December 2025, Albie announced that the couple had gotten engaged, marking another major milestone in their relationship.
