Sharon Cuneta drops ‘Honor Thy Mother’ first look, begins historic collab with Kapuso Barbie Forteza

Sharon Cuneta teases first scenes with Barbie Forteza as ABS-CBN and GMA join forces for historic “Honor Thy Mother” series.

Megastar Sharon Cuneta recently shared behind-the-scenes photos from the set of “Honor Thy Mother” as the highly anticipated collab between ABS-CBN Studios and GMA Network officially started rolling.  

Sharon posted photos on Instagram, giving fans a glimpse of her first-ever on-screen partnership with Barbie Forteza.

“With my very own sweet Barbie,” the Megastar wrote in the caption, accompanied by heart emojis.

Barbie quickly responded to the post, expressing her appreciation for her veteran co-star. “Always a pleasure being on set with you po,” Barbie replied.

“Honor Thy Mother” marks Sharon’s second Prime Video project following the success of “Saving Grace” in 2024. During the series announcement in April, the veteran actress expressed her pride in being part of a project that brings together two of the country’s biggest television networks.

“I’m very pleased because I think it’s the first collaboration between our mother studios, ABS-CBN and of course, GMA-7. So it’s like two families coming together and brought under one roof by Prime. So we’re very proud, very honored. I’m very honored and it’s ‘Honor Thy Mother’,” she said.

For Barbie, working alongside the Megastar has been a learning experience. In a recent interview, the actress spoke highly of Sharon’s acting style and the depth she brings to every scene.

“She was never your stereotype bida. Kapag may ganitong line, minsan ide-deliver niya ng umiiyak, minsan hindi,” Barbie shared. “Minsan mas quiet at minsan hindi nga siya iiyak eh pero tagos. Ayun ’yong complexity of delivering dialogues,” she added.

Joining Sharon and Barbie in the series are Khalil Ramos, John Estrada, Mercedes Cabral, Tonton Gutierrez, and RK Bagatsing, completing a powerhouse ensemble cast for one of the most anticipated projects on streaming.
