First-half collections reached nearly ₱492 billion after June revenue exceeded target by 3.43%, keeping the Bureau of Customs on pace to hit its annual goal.
The Bureau of Customs is halfway to its ambitious ₱1 trillion revenue target after collecting nearly ₱492 billion in the first six months of 2026, with June collections once again exceeding expectations.
The agency collected ₱86.073 billion in June, beating its ₱83.22 billion target by 3.43% and lifting first-half revenue to ₱491.748 billion, or 2.4% above its goal for the period. The momentum also carried over from last year, with June collections rising 11.73% year on year, while first-half revenue increased 7.19%.
The higher collections strengthen government revenues without imposing new taxes, while underscoring the steady flow of imports that generate customs duties, from fuel and food to raw materials, machinery, and consumer goods. The BOC said the increase was driven by the performance of its 17 collection districts, stronger enforcement, trade facilitation efforts, modernized processes, and ₱2.283 billion generated by the Post-Clearance Audit Group.
With nearly ₱500 billion collected in six months, the Bureau remains on pace to pursue its ₱1 trillion revenue goal for the year.
