Petron to build ₱340M fuel facility at Bohol-Panglao International Airport

The new fuel farm aims to strengthen fuel supply reliability, support growing passenger traffic, and prepare the airport for future expansion.

Petron is set to build and operate a new Jet A-1 fuel facility at Bohol-Panglao International Airport, a ₱340 million investment that could help keep one of the country’s busiest tourist gateways running more efficiently as passenger traffic continues to grow.

The project gives Petron exclusive rights to design, construct, operate, and maintain the airport’s on-site fuel depot after emerging as the top-ranked bidder in Aboitiz InfraCapital Bohol Airport Corporation’s selection process.

Scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2027, the facility will feature three storage tanks with a combined capacity of 1,431 kiloliters, enough to maintain at least five days of fuel supply. That provides a more dependable buffer for airlines while reducing the risk of fuel disruptions that could affect flight operations.

The airport currently consumes around 102 kiloliters of aviation fuel each day, with domestic flights accounting for the bigger share. As Bohol welcomes more travelers and airlines expand their services, a permanent fuel farm is expected to support higher traffic without putting additional pressure on fuel logistics.

The agreement also keeps the airport open to future fuel suppliers. While Petron will operate the facility, Aboitiz InfraCapital will regulate applicable facility rates, allowing other qualified suppliers to enter the market without facing discriminatory access. That setup encourages competition while giving airlines more options in the years ahead.
