Ex-couple Heaven Peralejo and Marco Gallo reunite onscreen, clarify evolving relationship

Marco and Heaven said their relationship has evolved into a genuine friendship grounded in mutual respect and understanding.

“To be quite honest with you, I would not like to put so much pressure on the topic (closeness and sweetness) because, obviously, as exes, we had the phase na medyo nagkainitan kami. Pero ngayon, okay na kami. As in, walang galit, and I’m really just happy being around you (turning to Heaven), and it’s fun to work with you, so work na lang muna tayo,” Marco said.

Heaven echoed a similar sentiment, sharing her thoughts on love and timing.

“Ayaw ko rin naman na may maghintay sa akin. Syempre, gusto ko kung sino man ‘yon, he lives his life more para he grows and he’s happy. And if you guys are really meant for each other, itatadhana rin kayo,” she said.

At the press conference for “Our Yesterday’s Escape,” headlined by Jairus Aquino and Nicole Omilio, the two were asked about their closeness and on-screen dynamic.

They also reflected on the conclusion of the University Series, where they were first paired as a love team in “The Rain in España,” based on the novel by Gwy Saludes. Marco and Heaven portrayed Kalix and Luna, whose storyline became one of the franchise’s most memorable arcs.

Marco was also asked if he would be willing to wait for love the way Kalix waited for Luna for 10 years.

The final chapter of the University Series, directed by Gino Santos, will soon premiere on the Viva One app.
