Mynt’s record revenues boost Globe’s first-half performance as the telecom giant expands beyond traditional connectivity.
Globe Telecom’s earnings mix is changing as its stake in digital financial services continues to generate a larger share of its profits.
The telecommunications company said Mynt, the operator of GCash, accounted for 28% of Globe’s pre-tax income in the first half of 2026, up from 26% a year earlier. The fintech company also posted record quarterly revenues of ₱22.4 billion in the second quarter.
For the first six months of the year, Globe’s equity share in Mynt’s net income reached ₱3.7 billion, highlighting the growing role of GCash in supporting the company’s overall financial performance.
The contribution came as Globe reported record service revenues of ₱85.4 billion during the period, up 6% year-on-year. The company attributed the increase to stronger mobile data demand, broadband growth, enterprise digitalization, and higher contributions from its digital businesses.
Aside from mobile payments, GCash has expanded into financial services such as lending, savings, investments, and insurance, allowing Globe to tap into the country’s growing digital finance market.
Mynt, which is backed by Globe, Ayala Corporation, and Ant International, has also filed for a proposed initial public offering with the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Philippine Stock Exchange.
