After her annulment, Chariz Solomon shares why couples should focus less on a grand wedding and more on building a lasting marriage.

Actress Chariz Solomon is putting the spotlight where she believes it belongs—not on the wedding day, but on everything that comes after.

During her “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” guesting, the Kapuso actress and comedian opened up about marriage, commitment, and the reality of staying together even when relationships inevitably face difficult seasons.

“‘Wag niyong ilagay lahat sa kasal,” Solomon said. “Nagpakasal kayo pero ‘wag kayong mapressure. Dapat sobrang bongga? Dapat ang sobrang bongga ay ‘yong marriage. ‘Yong after.”

She emphasized that real relationships are not always happy or perfect, and that commitment is tested precisely when things go wrong.

“Hindi talaga lagi masaya. ‘Yon ang totoong relasyon. ‘Yon ang totoong commitment, na minsan you will fail, minsan he will fail, pero ang totoong tanong is… Would you stay after that failure? And how will you fix it together?”

Solomon was previously married to businessman Nestor Ng, whom she wed in 2012 before their separation in 2018. Their marriage was officially declared null and void by a court in January 2025.

She is now in a long-term relationship with Vince Teotico, with whom she shares a child. Despite previously receiving a proposal from Teotico, Solomon clarified that they are not planning to get married this year.

“Nag-propose na siya sa akin. Hindi ko lang suot ang singsing ngayon pero walang issue ah, nalimutan ko lang talaga,” she explained. “I’m proud na, ‘Wow, may nag-propose sa akin ulit.’”

They have yet to seriously discuss wedding plans, said Solomon.
