Puregold CinePanalo 2026 unveils seven full-length films ahead of Sept. 23 opening

For the coming-of-age film “Apol of My Ai,” director Thop Nazareno was joined by actors Zion Cruz and Rochelle Pangilinan.

Representing the fantasy film “Beast” were producer Meg Bryan Bermudez and supporting cast members Candy Pangilinan, Karl Medina, Ruslan Jacob, and Dax Alejandro. Director Lawrence Fajardo is currently attending the Toronto International Film Festival in Canada, while lead actor John Arcilla is in the United States.

The drama “Mono No Aware” was represented by director BC Amparado, producer Patricia Salic, and lead star Juan Karlos Labajo. The film also features veteran actor Perry Dizon in a lead role.

Director Rodina Singh attended with cast members Sassa Gurl, Joao Constancia, Phi Palmos, Gaia Poly, and Inah Evans for the supernatural queer film “Multwoh (Patay na Patay Sa’yo).”

Meanwhile, Khalil Ramos, Cris Villanueva, and Alwyn Uytingco joined co-directors Carl Joseph Papa and Ian Pangilinan for the otherworldly love story “Patay Gutom.”

The romantic comedy “Stuck on You,” which comes with a deadly twist, was represented by director Mikko Baldoza and lead stars Xyriel Manabat and River Joseph.

Rounding out the lineup was “Wantawsan,” presented by director Joseph Abello, who described the film as a slice-of-life comedy centered on a political dilemma.

The launch also highlighted the 19 filmmakers competing in this year’s student shorts category. Coming from different parts of the country, the young filmmakers will showcase their stories and perspectives alongside the festival’s official feature entries.

With a wider cinema reach and a mix of established stars, emerging talents, and new filmmakers, Puregold CinePanalo 2026 is set to showcase another slate of Filipino stories when it opens on September 23.
