From “Pinoy Big Brother” to her upcoming project “Hotel 88,” AZ Martinez shares how learning to rest and recharge has helped her shine brighter.
In a world that moves too fast, AZ Martinez is learning to slow down, and put herself first.
The actress and Sparkle artist is embracing a new chapter centered on wellness, self-love, and inner peace, proving that her real glow doesn’t come from the spotlight alone, but from balance and self-awareness.
For AZ, self-care isn’t about vanity, but about valuing yourself enough to rest, recharge, and grow. Amid her busy schedule, she’s made wellness an essential part of her daily routine.
Nurturing the self
“We’ve been working out lately—Vince (Maristela), Ralph (de Leon), and I. They love to work out, and as for me, I’m starting to get into it, too. We usually exercise kapag free kami. It’s like our bonding moment na rin,” she shared.
Still, she admitted that staying consistent can be challenging. “Yes, there are a lot of moments like that, especially when I feel lazy or if there’s something missing in my routine. I’m still working on those things—and minsan napapaisip rin ako,” she admitted.
Her approach to self-care is holistic—balancing fitness, friendships, and mental well-being. “Of course kailangan ko sipagan and do more of my routines. Like now, I work out more, I hang out with friends, and talk to them. It’s really more of self-care, but with friends,” she explained.
And when the day is done, AZ makes time for small joys. “I love pamper days, and I never forget to reward myself,” she added with a smile.
Learning through the journey
Even as new opportunities continue to open up, AZ has learned to listen to her body and protect her peace.
Her upcoming project, “Hotel 88,” remains under wraps, but she shared that preparing for it has been both exciting and grounding.
“We’re about to start our locked-in taping. As of now, wala pang binibigay na details—it’s going to be a surprise. I believe it’s happening anytime this week or next. We started doing workshops with the other cast members and have been doing look tests. There’s been a lot of preparation for this show,” she revealed.
Reflecting on her “Pinoy Big Brother” days, AZ said that the experience taught her resilience and self-acceptance.
“Knowing Kuya (Big Brother) for being spontaneous, my tip is: just do your best and don’t give up. There were times I wanted to quit because I was hurt or struggling. Pero kahit gano’n, you realize na worth it lahat once you finish the challenge,” she said.
She added: “Ang natutunan ko sa pagpasok ko sa bahay ni Kuya is to be yourself and accept who you are. Even if I make mistakes, that’s okay. A lot of people take mistakes as embarrassment or failure, but they’re not total failures. You can still do better and stand up from that.”
Living her glow era
The “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition” alumna, once known for her vibrant personality inside the house, now carries a softer, more grounded energy—one that radiates from within.
“I’d like to thank my Sparkle family for introducing me to SnowCaps. Without them, this wouldn’t be possible,” she shared during her contract signing for her latest endorsement with SnowCaps beauty supplements.
Now in what she proudly calls her “glow era,” AZ is discovering that self-care is the key to staying inspired, both as an artist and as a person. “I’m just really happy where I am right now—doing the things I love, taking care of myself, and being surrounded by people who help me grow,” she said.
