Crosta Pizzeria climbs to No. 31 among world’s best pizza restos

From a local shop to a four-year global fixture, Crosta continues to earn international acclaim.

Crosta Pizzeria has once again put the Philippines on the global pizza map, rising to No. 31 in the 50 Top Pizza World 2026 ranking.

The Makati-born pizzeria received the recognition in Naples, Italy, where the annual list of the world’s top pizza restaurants was unveiled. Crosta also ranked No. 5 in the Asia-Pacific earlier this year, cementing its place among the region’s most acclaimed pizza destinations.

The latest recognition marks Crosta’s fourth consecutive year on the world ranking.

“Fourth year on this stage. Still pinching ourselves. Still flying the flag alongside some of the world’s best pizzerias,” Crosta wrote in a social media post following the announcement.

“Thank you 50 Top Pizza for the honour and to our incredible team for keeping the dough flying.”

Crosta was founded by Ingga Cabangon Chua and Thomas Woudwyk, with chef Yuichi Abellare Ito helping lead its kitchen. The pizzeria has built a following around its long-fermented sourdough crust and an unconventional menu that refuses to stick to just one pizza tradition.

Its offerings range from thin and crisp Tonda Romana pizzas to thick Detroit-style pies, alongside creations incorporating Filipino flavors. Among its better-known offerings are the truffle-and-mortadella Morty & Ella 2.0 and its distinctly local Sisig Pizza.

Crosta’s global recognition is particularly notable in a field traditionally dominated by pizzerias from countries with deeply established pizza cultures.

But Crosta was not the only Manila name recognized on the world stage.

Fellow Makati restaurant a mano also made the 2026 global ranking, giving the Philippines two representatives among the world’s top pizzerias.

Crosta made sure to celebrate the achievement with its fellow Filipino restaurant.

“And a massive congrats to our friends at a mano—just two Manila pizza joints casually representing on the world stage. Not bad,” it said.

For Crosta, what began as a local pizza operation has now become a four-year fixture on one of the industry’s most closely watched international rankings.

And this year, the Philippine flag is flying from No. 31 in the world.
