The actor sends prayers to ex Kim Chiu while opening up about working with exes Bea Alonzo and Julia Barretto.
Gerald Anderson is keeping his distance from the legal dispute between his former girlfriend Kim Chiu and her sister, Lakam Chiu, but hopes the situation will be resolved favorably for everyone involved.
The Kapamilya actor was asked to comment about the criminal cases Kim filed against Lakam during his contract renewal as endorser of Greenfield Tools on October 5 at Perfect B in Quezon City.
“Ayaw kong magbigay ng komento pero ipagdarasal natin na maging okay ang lahat. ‘Yon lang naman. Mahirap ang sitwasyon, walang panalo d’yan. We just hope for the best para sa kanila. Mangyari ang dapat mangyari,” Gerald said.
Although Gerald and Kim have long since gone their separate ways, interest in their former relationship remains, with fans still hoping to see the popular Kimerald tandem reunite in a project. The two were last paired in the television series “Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin” in 2017.

As an entrepreneur, Gerald was also asked whether he had experienced being cheated out of money by people close to him and whether he had ever filed a case against them.
He said he had not resorted to legal action, explaining that moving forward and rebuilding could sometimes be more practical.
“Nagdemanda? Hindi, kasi minsan mas madaling mag-move forward na lang. Mababawi mo naman ‘yon, like I’ve said kanina, magbuo ka ng team na mapagkakatiwalaan mo,” he said.
Open to working with Bea and Julia
Gerald, who also previously had relationships with actresses Bea Alonzo and Julia Barretto, said he would not rule out working with any of his former partners in a film or television project.
For him, the deciding factor would be the quality of the story and whether the project would offer something meaningful to audiences.
“I’m open sa lahat, basta ang lagi kong sinasabi, maganda ang kuwento, may matutunan ang audience natin. Alam n’yo naman kung ano ang lagi kong hinahanap na proyekto,” he said.
Despite his past high-profile relationships, Gerald said he is currently single by choice and is not actively looking for a partner. He would rather focus on his personal growth and other priorities, trusting that love will come at the right time.
“Wala eh, Mama ko lang, and it’s by choice,” he said.
“Marami pa akong kailangang gawin. Mahirap maging unfair, ‘di ba? Ako, ine-enjoy ko lang. ‘Di ko masasabi na ‘yon ang kulang, but darating din ‘yan sa buhay. ‘Di dapat nagmamadali, ‘di dapat hinahanap. I’m very thankful sa mga nangyayari sa akin ngayon.”

On entering politics
Gerald has also drawn attention for helping people during calamities. During Typhoon Carina and the recent southwest monsoon, or Habagat, videos circulated online showing him wading through deep floodwaters in parts of Quezon City to help stranded residents, including carrying a child to safety.
His public service efforts have prompted some to encourage him to enter politics. However, Gerald said he remains happy with his work as an actor and believes his celebrity status already gives him opportunities to help others.
“Masaya naman ako bilang artista. Marami rin tayo nagagawa. Marami rin akong oportunidad, may mga kaibigan din ako sa pulitika. Pangit ang word pero nagagamit ko rin sila para makatulong sa mga tao. Sa ngayon, ‘yon ang purpose ko as a celebrity,” he said.
He cited “Pusong Bayani,” a four-episode online reality and mini-documentary series on YouTube that follows the daily lives and challenges of Filipino soldiers, fisherfolk and coastal communities in the West Philippine Sea, as an example of how he hopes to make an impact through entertainment.
“Masaya ako sa pag-aartista, sa pagiging celebrity. Nakikita n’yo naman na nakakagawa ako ng Pusong Bayani, may gagawin pa tayo in the future. May nagawa na ako tungkol sa mga sundalo, tungkol sa nangyayari sa Pilipinas, masaya na ako sa gano’n kasi may impact pa rin yan,” he said.
He has also completed “Buy Bust: Undesirables,” an action film starring Anne Curtis. Gerald described the project as one of his most challenging to date, citing both the role and the weight of its subject matter.
“Itong mapapanood nyo sa ‘Buy Bust,’ isa sa pinaka-challenging din. ‘Di ko pa nagagagawa ito–ang role mismo at ang kwento. ‘Pag napanood n’yo, makikita n’yo. ‘Yong mismong tema ng istorya, mabigat, maganda, malalim, base sa mga nangyayari sa Pilipinas ngayon,” he said.
