A video posted online appears to show flames engulfing the mall’s logo.
The facade of Robinsons Galleria in Quezon City was reportedly seen on fire in the early hours of October 28, with social media users later saying the flames were no longer visible by the morning rush hour.
The mall’s logo facing ADB Avenue was reportedly on fire at around 12:34 a.m., according to X user @iamrasta02, who said he witnessed the incident.
In a video uploaded by the user, flames appear to engulf the mall logo’s “R” symbol but do not appear to spread to other parts of the facade or building. People can be seen walking calmly underneath, although the video alone cannot establish whether they were aware of the fire.
“Apat lang ata kami nakapagvideo kasi wala gaanong tao. Kalmado lang mga guards, mukhang alam nila gagawin at walang bumbero pa. ‘Yung mga security ng Ortigas [Land] ‘yung nagdatingan pa lang,” he said in a succeeding post.
The individual added that he was unable to witness how the reported fire was put out since he left soon after taking the video.
To address claims that the video was fake or AI-generated, user @iamrasta02 shared its metadata in the X thread to support his account.
In a video analysis conducted by radar Business, artificial intelligence checkers Hive Moderation and SightEngine suggested that the video was not AI-generated. However, these results alone cannot confirm the video’s location, date, or the circumstances surrounding the reported incident.
Reddit users also claimed that the flames were no longer visible by morning.
Robinsons Malls has not yet responded to requests for comment from radar Business.
