The announcement will be livestreamed on Thursday, Oct. 29.
A year after the Michelin Guide’s Philippine debut, the spotlight returns on Thursday, Oct. 29, as the guide reveals which Filipino restaurants will retain their distinctions—and which will join its 2027 selection.
The announcement covers Manila and its surrounding areas, and Cebu, and will include Michelin Stars (one to three), Bib Gourmand distinctions, and Michelin Selected recognition. Special awards will also honor exceptional individuals in the Philippine dining community.
On its website, the guide teases that the new edition “looks further afield — and more deeply into the country’s evolving dining culture.”
For chefs and restaurateurs, recognition can bring wider attention to their kitchens and the people behind their food. For diners, the new selection offers fresh destinations and culinary experiences to discover.
This year’s ceremony also marks 100 years of the coveted Michelin Star, which recognizes “the restaurant offering the best culinary experiences.”
Michelin inspectors assess restaurants using five criteria: ingredient quality, mastery of cooking techniques, harmony of flavors, the personality of the cuisine, and consistency across the menu and over time.
Last year, 108 Filipino restaurants earned recognition: 74 were named Michelin Selected, 25 received Bib Gourmand honors, and 10 were awarded Michelin Stars. Nine earned one star, while Helm by Josh Boutwood was the only two-star recipient. radar featured Boutwood on its launch day, Oct. 15, ahead of the historic announcement.
The ceremony will be livestreamed on the Michelin Guide’s official YouTube channel.
