Manager criticized for rejecting applicant over uniform inquiry.

Nono’s has distanced itself from a manager criticized online for her exchange with a job applicant, clarifying that she is no longer connected with the restaurant chain after screenshots of the viral Facebook post drew backlash.

In a now-deleted Facebook post dated October 28, user Marikit Dela Paz shared a Messenger conversation with a job applicant she was screening for an unnamed company.

The applicant asked about the salary, to which Dela Paz replied that the amount included basic pay, service charge, and tips.

However, the exchange took a turn when the applicant asked if they could see the uniform, prompting Dela Paz to turn down the applicant and cite a supposed misalignment in professional conduct.

“I was being courteous nung sinagot ko inquiry nya about the salary… napikon ako nung nag ask if pwede makita uniform. So… I wish you the best of luck in the future,” Dela Paz said in the deleted post.

Before locking her profile, Dela Paz indicated that she worked at Nono’s. Reuploads of the post also identified her as affiliated with the restaurant chain, prompting netizens to leave laughing and angry reactions under the restaurant’s recent posts.

Nono’s told radar Business that Dela Paz is not affiliated with the company.

“She is neither an employee nor representative of the company. The screenshot she shared is with regards to her current employer, which is not Nono’s,” the chain said in a message to radar Business.

Dela Paz also commented under a reupload of the post, saying she is no longer connected with Nono’s.

Netizens criticized Dela Paz for supposedly responding rudely to the applicant, saying that asking about the uniform was a normal and expected question during the hiring process.
