Filipino K-pop JL idol surprises fans with Alex Gonzaga chant, sparks crossover buzz online.

JL (Jay Lawrence Gaspar), the sole Filipino member of global K-pop boy group AHOF, became a trending topic on X after unexpectedly singing Alex Gonzaga’s viral “Pinty” chant during a recent Weverse Live.

While interacting with fans, JL playfully sang, “Ikaw, ikaw, ikaw si Pinty,” referencing the running joke from Alex Gonzaga’s vlogs teasing her mother, Mommy Pinty Gonzaga. Laughing afterward, the idol admitted, “My intrusive thoughts,” which in Gen Z speak means suddenly blurting out a meme line

The clip quickly made the rounds online, eventually catching Alex’s attention. The content creator reposted the video, expressing shock and amusement that her family’s inside joke had reached South Korea.

Mommy Pinty has long been a recurring figure in the Gonzaga sisters’ content, often becoming the subject of Alex’s playful banter—including the now-viral “Ikaw, ikaw, ikaw si Pinty” line.

Fans were equally entertained by the crossover, with many joking that Filipino meme culture has officially reached K-pop.

JL debuted with AHOF on July 1, 2025, after finishing first place in the South Korean survival program Universe League, making history as the group’s only Filipino member.
