The actress questions the senator’s inaction despite knowing the truth, reflects on past friendship and urges him to “wake up.”

Actress Angel Locsin broke her social media silence with this pointed question to Senator Robin Padilla, calling him out for failing to defend her at the height of red-tagging accusations despite, she said, knowing the truth.

In a lengthy post, Angel recalled the stories Robin used to tell her about his younger years, particularly the time he spent in the mountains carrying arms in what he believed was a fight for the country.

She then referred to Robin’s recent Senate statement in which he said, “Komunista po ako,” saying it reminded her of the person she once knew.

At least, honest ka ngayon, Kuya,” she added.

The actress also questioned Robin’s priorities as a senator, particularly his stance on issues involving the Muslim community and detained religious leader Apollo Quiboloy.

Reflecting on the Robin she once admired, Angel said she was saddened by his position on issues involving China, saying it no longer reflected the patriot she had known.

Angel ended her message with a direct appeal to the actor-turned-senator. “Tama na, Kuya. Gising na. Hindi pa huli ang lahat.”

The post quickly gained traction online, drawing praise from netizens and personalities in the entertainment industry.

One supporter commented, “Tama ang hinahangaan kong tao. Thank you, Ms. Angel Locsin, for speaking up and standing up for us. We truly appreciate your courage and your voice.”

Another netizen wrote, “OMG, her last official post was in 2022, pero nagsalita siya. Opo, nagsalita si Angel para sa bayan! Mabuhay ka.”

Meanwhile, Angel’s husband, #NeilArce, showed his support with a lighthearted comment referencing her iconic superhero role. “Lika na, Narda, hanapin natin iyung bato,” he wrote, alluding to #Darna.

Fellow actress Irma Adlawan thanked Angel for making a stand, and made a sound/practical request: “Salamat sa pagsasalita!

Angel and Robin previously worked together in the 2007 GMA Network action-adventure series “Asian Treasures” and the 2011 ABS-CBN sitcom “Toda Max,” where they developed a friendship that extended beyond the screen.
