Ava Daza says her brand of lubricant was built with LGBTQIA+ insights at its core, not as an afterthought.

“When I began thinking about what a Filipino sexual wellness brand could look like, I knew it had to be for everyone. We couldn’t just focus on heterosexual couples.

“The LGBTQIA+ community has always been vocal, loyal, and underserved when it comes to products made with their specific needs in mind. They weren’t an afterthought for us. They were part of the foundation.”

In line with Pride Month this June, entrepreneur Ava Daza revealed that she consulted members of the LGBTQIA+ community as part of her research prior to releasing a new lubricant product.

Daza, founder of sexual and intimate wellness brand Jellytime, said she continues to champion more inclusive and open conversations around sexual wellness while strengthening her advocacy for the LGBTQIA+ community.

This commitment led to the development of Silk, which she describes as her most advanced lubricant product to date. It was created after listening closely to consumer feedback, particularly from members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

“It was designed to address needs that have long been underserved in the local market,” she said in an interview with Radar PH. “Destigmatization is a public health tool. We want to be part of that.”

For Daza, normalizing conversations around intimacy, pleasure, and sexual health is key to helping people make more informed decisions about their well-being.

She also acknowledged the progress she has seen since entering the sexual wellness space, noting that attitudes toward sexual health and pleasure have gradually become more open.
