From Catriona’s lava walk to Denmark’s history-making queen, Miss Universe returns to Bangkok for a new chapter of glamour and grace.

The excitement is building across the globe as preparations officially begin for the 74th Miss Universe pageant, set to unfold in Bangkok, Thailand, later this year.

The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) confirmed that the 2025 edition will return to the Thai capital, marking the fourth time the country will host the international competition. The “Land of Smiles” previously staged the pageant in 1992, 2005, and 2018, each edition remembered for its glamour and historic moments.

Thailand’s connection to Miss Universe runs deep. In 1992, Michelle McLean of Namibia was crowned at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. Natalie Glebova of Canada followed in 2005, while in 2018, the Philippines’ Catriona Gray made pageant history with her iconic lava walk and earned her country’s fourth crown on the same Bangkok stage.

This year’s coronation night is set for Nov. 21, 2025, at the Impact Arena in Muang Thong Thani, just outside Bangkok. Audiences in the United States will be able to catch the live broadcast on the evening of Nov. 20.

Delegates from around the world will begin arriving in Thailand on Nov. 2, officially kicking off nearly three weeks of activities that will highlight the nation’s culture, hospitality, and artistry. The sashing ceremony is slated for Nov. 5, followed by a swimsuit fashion show in Pattaya on Nov. 14. Candidates will then return to Bangkok for closed-door interviews on Nov. 16, leading up to the preliminary and national costume competitions on Nov. 19.

The journey reaches its peak on coronation night, when reigning Miss Universe Victoria Kjær Theilvig of Denmark—her country’s first-ever titleholder—will pass on the crown. Her historic win in Mexico City last year not only marked a milestone for Denmark but also set a new standard for this year’s competition.

While Bangkok will serve as the heart of the event, contestants will also visit Pattaya and Phuket, experiencing Thailand’s tropical landscapes and cultural treasures along the way.

Among those hoping to shine on the global stage is Ahtisa Manalo, Miss Universe Philippines 2025, who will aim to bring home the Philippines’ fifth Miss Universe crown.
