Bea Binene urges youth action as she steps up for Bam Aquino for event in Baguio

Actress and youth advocate Bea Binene delivers a powerful message on youth empowerment and civic duty.

Actress and youth advocate Bea Binene took on a civic role in Baguio City as she represented Senator Bam Aquino at the recent 13th Philippines | Transform! Leaders’ Convention (PITLC).

Binene accepted the Gawad Kadakilaan on Aquino’s behalf and delivered a message encouraging young Filipinos to stay informed, participate in national conversations, and recognize their role in shaping the country’s future.

“Makialam, hindi dahil gusto lang nating mangialam. Mas magandang may alam tayo dahil ang kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan,” she said in a post-event interview.

She also urged young people to turn awareness into action, emphasizing that the country’s future is something they actively help shape.

“Ipakita natin ang kapangyarihan at ang lakas ng kabataang Pilipino dahil para sa kinabukasan natin ’to, para sa bansa natin ’to, para sa atin ’to.”

Her appearance at PITLC also adds to her years-long record of youth and community involvement. Binene was appointed a GMA Kapuso Foundation youth advocate in 2019, helping promote public service initiatives involving education, health, and disaster relief.

She has likewise participated in relief operations and youth-centered advocacy efforts, including work connected to the Haribon Foundation, where she served as a junior ambassador.

In 2026, Binene also hosted the 4th Annual Bisigkleta & Fun Run for a Cause of the National Authority for Child Care, supporting advocacy for legal adoption and alternative child care under the theme “Love Makes A Family.”

Her message in Baguio reflected the same emphasis on participation and service.

“Maraming-maraming salamat sa pakikialam. Maraming salamat sa paggawa, at maraming salamat sa pagmamahal para sa bayan,” Binene said before ending with, “Galing sa kabataan, para sa kabataan.”

Aquino thanked the actress for accepting the award and delivering his message to the youth leaders, saying that young Filipinos willing to “manguna, maglingkod, at kumilos” remain an inspiration for the country’s future.
