The Olympic champion’s tribute to his siblings is met with renewed attention on his father’s controversial remarks.
When Carlos Yulo proudly shared photos of his siblings’ new home, the moment quickly turned into something bigger online—bringing back old tensions and resurfacing cryptic posts from his father.
On May 2, Carlos congratulated his older sister Jorielgel and younger siblings Eldrew and Elaiza for reaching a major milestone.
“You guys did it! From dreams, prayers, and hard work, to finally having a place to call your own; your own peace and your own beginning,” he wrote.
“Congratulations Ate Jorielgel, Eldrew and Elaiza on your house blessing. Proud ako sainyo 🏡🙌🏻”
The photos showed the siblings with a priest during what appeared to be a house blessing—but notably absent were their parents, Mark and Angelica Yulo.
While many saw the post as a sign of healing within the family, netizens quickly revisited Mark Yulo’s earlier social media activity, which some interpreted as indirect messages.
On March 28, he shared a video of an overseas Filipino parent surprising her child at a school ceremony, reminding students to value their parents’ sacrifices.

Days later, on April 8, he posted a clip with a bold text overlay:
“Anak na walang kwenta / yung bulag sa sakripisyo ng magulang.”

The video’s message: children who “easily point out their parents’ shortcomings” rarely recognize their efforts. Mark also reacted with a “Love” to a comment saying children would one day understand once they become parents themselves. When one user accused him of gaslighting, he pushed back by asking if the commenter was also disrespectful to their own parents.
Then on May 4, shortly after Carlos’ post gained traction, Mark shared another Facebook Story with animated text that read:
“Di ka bagay dito. Bagay ka dun. Sa mga taong palara. Sa mga taong nakahiga sa salapi. Sa mga taong dyinudyos ang pera. Sa mga taong sumasamba sa piso. Dun ka nababagay.”
Amid all this, Angelica has kept her posts relatively light—focusing on home updates, time with friends, and moments with her husband.
Carlos’ family issues have been in the public eye since his breakthrough at the 2024 Olympics, when his success was overshadowed by a feud with his mother over alleged financial matters and her disapproval of his girlfriend, Chloe San Jose.
At one point, the rift reportedly extended to his siblings. But in recent months, there have been signs of reconciliation—at least on that front. Carlos celebrated his 26th birthday in February with a beach trip alongside his siblings and Chloe.
With the house blessing, many see a clearer picture emerging: while tensions with his parents remain unresolved, his bond with his siblings appears to be on steadier ground.
