Influencer David Guison defends his wedding to Angelique Manto after netizen calls it “too PR,” sparking debate on curated celebrations.

David Guison had a short but pointed response to a netizen who commented on his recent wedding celebration with Angelique Manto.

The newlyweds recently shared glimpses of their wedding festivities online, giving followers a look at the carefully styled celebration they described as part of “the best day of our lives.”

David, a fashion and lifestyle content creator, and Angelique, a content creator, former courtside reporter, and Miss Universe Philippines 2023 second runner-up, have long been followed for their polished visual style, travels, and relationship milestones.

But as photos from the celebration circulated online, one netizen said their wedding reception looked “more like a corporate PR event than a wedding.”

David responded simply: “good thing it’s not your wedding! :)”

The exchange quickly captured attention because it touched on something familiar in influencer culture: when personal milestones become public content, people often feel entitled to review them like campaigns, events, or brand activations.

But weddings, even highly curated ones, are still personal celebrations.

And for David and Angelique, the look, mood, and details of the day were ultimately theirs to choose.
