Gasoline and kerosene head higher in mixed fuel price adjustment.

Diesel prices are set to roll back by ₱1.30 per liter on Tuesday, October 6, giving motorists another break at the pump even as gasoline and kerosene prices head higher.

Based on the latest Department of Energy computation, gasoline prices will increase by ₱1.93 per liter, while kerosene prices will rise by ₱3.30 per liter.

The adjustments will take effect at 6 a.m. on October 6.

Tuesday’s diesel rollback follows last week’s much larger ₱7.57-per-liter cut. On September 29, gasoline prices also dropped by ₱0.24 per liter, while kerosene prices rolled back by ₱5.85 per liter.

With the latest adjustment, diesel prices will have posted two consecutive weekly rollbacks, although the October 6 cut is considerably smaller than the previous week’s reduction.

Based on the latest average pump prices, the new adjustment would bring the average price of diesel down from around ₱98.33 to ₱97.03 per liter. Gasoline, meanwhile, would rise from about ₱92.39 to ₱94.32 per liter.

As of press time, oil companies have yet to release their respective advisories for the week’s price changes. Actual adjustments could still vary by company and fuel product, although oil firms have generally stayed close to the DOE-computed figures in previous price adjustments.
