Ian Darcy and Allan Lainez welcome daughter Mariah Chanel born via surrogacy in the United States.

The entrepreneur couple behind the successful perfume brand Ian Darcy have expanded their family with the arrival of a baby girl.

Ian Darcy and Allan Lainez welcomed their daughter, Mariah Chanel, in April, born through a surrogacy and IVF process in Pennsylvania. She carries the surname Lainez.

The child was carried via a U.S.-based surrogate following the IVF procedure, with both Ian Darcy and Allan Lainez contributing genetic material.

Mariah Chanel is an American citizen, having been born in the United States. Her birth certificate lists both Ian Darcy and Allan Lainez as her legal parents under U.S. jurisdiction.

Her name carries a personal reference, with “Mariah” honoring the couple’s favorite artist Mariah Carey, as well as a reference to the Virgin Mary. “Chanel,” on the other hand, was chosen to complete the “MC” initials, also tied to the best-selling female recording artist often associated with those initials.

The couple had her christened earlier this month in a private family ceremony, followed by a gathering of close friends.

Darcy and Lainez are currently working through the process of Philippine recognition for their daughter’s legal status, as they navigate how her U.S.-issued documentation and parental recognition will be treated under local laws.

The couple plans to continue growing their family over the years, anchored on their shared goal of building a family grounded in love, respect, and humility.
