Says it has yet to receive the show-cause order.

Globe Telecom is pushing back against the impression that its network has failed to improve, citing stronger August performance even as the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) flagged persistent mobile broadband issues in parts of Metro Manila.

In a disclosure filed with the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) on Monday, September 28, Globe said it had not received the NTC show-cause order as of the filing date and would disclose relevant details once received.

The filing came in response to a PSE letter seeking clarification on reports that the NTC had prepared show-cause orders and ₱100,000 daily penalties against Globe and two other mobile network operators over poor broadband performance.

The NTC said its September speed tests found previously recorded poor mobile broadband signals remained “substantially unchanged” from validations conducted in the first and second quarters.

Globe pointed to the latest Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Telco Report Card, which showed improved network performance in August.

Globe posted an overall score of 81.5, up 4.4 points from January, while average download speed reached 45.9 Mbps, its highest level this year. The figure was 5.1% higher than July and 26% above January’s 36.5 Mbps.

Network quality also improved to 71.2 from 69.2, while latency held at 20 milliseconds.

Globe said it invested ₱26.3 billion in capital expenditures in the first half of 2026, with 91% directed to data-related initiatives.

The company also acknowledged that some communities still need better connectivity, saying it would continue investing in network upgrades and targeted interventions.
