Local distributor teases entry of leading dermatological skincare brand.

Global skincare brand La Roche-Posay may soon be available in the Philippines, after an international distributor teased its official entry into the local market.

Scent and Beauté—the local distributor of skincare brand CeraVe and luxury beauty lines by Prada, Miu Miu, Armani, and Valentino—teased “a new skincare icon” coming to the Philippines under its distribution portfolio.

While the distributor did not name the brand, beauty enthusiasts say all signs point to La Roche-Posay.

A teaser video uploaded to the Scent and Beauté Viber community on September 3 featured the brand’s iconic shade of blue, echoing La Roche-Posay’s famous claims as the “#1 Dermatological skincare brand worldwide,” “recommended by 100k dermatologists,” and with “800+ clinical studies conducted on all phototypes and ages.”

La Roche-Posay is known for its dermatologist-backed skincare products, with its sunscreen and moisturizer lines earning praise from experts and beauty enthusiasts alike.

The entry of another international skincare brand would add to the increasingly competitive Philippine beauty market, where global names compete alongside homegrown brands and a growing range of Korean, Japanese, and other Asian beauty products. For Filipino consumers, La Roche-Posay’s arrival could also mean easier access to its products through official local channels, potentially reducing the need to rely on overseas purchases and resellers.

The brand was established in 1975 by French pharmacist René Levayer, who aimed to bring dermatological expertise into skincare. La Roche-Posay takes its name from the French town of the same name, which is said to have thermal springs with water rich in minerals and antioxidants.

French beauty conglomerate L’Oreal acquired the brand in 1989 and bought out its parent company, Société des Thermes de La Roche-Posay, in 2018.

Currently, La Roche-Posay is only available in the Philippines through online marketplaces and resellers. Local beauty enthusiasts often resort to “pasabuys” from abroad to minimize the risk of accidentally purchasing counterfeit products.
