“Cup of Joe” star brings his viral comedic charm to Viva Films’ horror-comedy adaptation.

Cup of Joe lead Gian Bernardino is ready to bring his comedic side to the big screen as he takes on his first major film role in Viva Films’ upcoming Filipino adaptation of the hit Thai horror-comedy “Pee Mak.”

The newbie actor admitted that while he has had previous acting experiences, joining the ensemble of “Pee Mak PH” marks an important milestone in his career.

“I’ve had acting experiences, but this is my first major one, and with Viva, my first major acting with them,” Bernardino shared.

Working alongside veteran and seasoned actors initially made him nervous, especially as he prepared to be part of such a star-studded ensemble.

“Kinabahan ako kasi siyempre mga veteran (stars) na iyong mga kasama ko… Mga experienced and seasoned, mga mahuhusay na mga aktor, and sobrang thankful ako na makasama sa ganitong klaseng ensemble,” he said.

Despite being one of the newcomers in the cast, Bernardino said he never felt out of place. Instead, he was warmly welcomed by his co-stars, making it easier for him to settle into the production.

“Very welcoming po ang energy po nilang lahat and hindi ko na-feel na baguhan ako,” he shared.

Bernardino also sees the project as an opportunity to showcase the comedic personality that helped him gain recognition online.

“Yes, sa online world rin kasi nakilala ako sa comedic humor vibes, and magandang start ’to, napakagandang start,” he said.

Victor Villanueva’s “Pee Mak PH” is based on the 2013 Thai blockbuster “Pee Mak,” which became one of Thailand’s biggest box-office successes. The original film gave the legendary Mae Nak Phra Khanong ghost story a fresh spin by combining horror, romance, and comedy.

The story follows Mak as he returns home from war to reunite with his wife, Nak, while his friends gradually uncover the frightening truth surrounding her.

Leading the Filipino adaptation are #WilbertRoss and #BeaBinene, who will be joined by #VandolphQuizon, #JairusAquino, #TJValderrama, and #GianBernardino as the barkada at the heart of “Pee Mak PH.”

The project also marks a major career milestone for Bernardino following his signing of a solo management and film contract with Viva Artists Agency and Viva Films on June 23, 2026.
