Janella, Brent, Jake headline star-studded play on love, heartbreak, and letting go,

“Ang bawat dulo ng relasyon ay nag-uumpisa sa isang masayang kwento.”

This is the central theme guiding a new stage production that brings together some of the country’s most seasoned theater veterans and today’s biggest stars: “The Art of Breaking Up (Kung Paano Maghiwalay).”

Leading the cast are Janella Salvador, Brent Manalo, Jake Cuenca, JC Alcantara, Yen Santos, and Nikki Valdez, as recently announced by Teatro Kapamilya, the theater production arm of ABS-CBN.

“Meet the people behind the stories that will make you laugh, make you cry, and remind us how sad and how beautiful it is to love,” the production said in its announcement.

Also joining the cast are Teroy Guzman, Bibeth Orteza, Carlitos Siguion-Reyna, Ruby Ruiz, Anna Luna, Dindon Bahan, Analain Salvador, AJ Sison, Jel Tarun, Yesh Burce, Jude Hinumdum, and Meann Espinosa. “PBB” alumni Jarren Garcia and Kolette Madelo will serve as featured vocalists.

The play is set to run from November to December 2026 at the PETA Theater Center in Quezon City.

“The Art of Breaking Up” is based on the award-winning work “Kung Paano Maghiwalay” by playwright George de Jesus III, with direction by Dudz Teraña.

The original piece was also adapted into a screenplay that won Second Prize in the Dulang Pampelikula category at the 2013 Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature, cementing its status as one of the country’s most celebrated contemporary love stories.

Teatro Kapamilya previously mounted the successful “Tabing Ilog: The Musical.”

With “The Art of Breaking Up,” the company once again brings together TV favorites, theater icons, and emerging talents in a production that explores the beauty—and heartbreak—of love.
