₱6.44B Cairo hotel near the Giza Pyramids to have 750 rooms.
DoubleDragon Corp.’s Hotel101 is bringing its Filipino hotel brand to Egypt, with plans for a ₱6.44-billion property near the Giza Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum as it expands into the African market.
Hotel101 Global signed definitive binding agreements on October 20 for a country-wide development deal in Egypt, starting with Hotel101-Cairo West. The project is expected to have around 750 rooms, making it one of Cairo’s three largest hotels by room count.
The hotel will rise on a 15,984-square-meter site in Hay Al Ashgar along Ahmed Zewail Road, about 10 minutes from the Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum. Its projected project value is 5.465 billion Egyptian pounds, equivalent to around $102.09 million or ₱6.44 billion.
The expansion gives a homegrown Philippine business a foothold in a country that welcomed more than 19 million tourists in 2025, opening up a new market for a brand that has ambitions beyond the domestic hospitality industry.
Egypt has an estimated population of 118 million, giving the project a potential customer base beyond international visitors. Hotel101 describes the deal as the first time a major Filipino brand and business model has been exported to Egypt.
The Cairo project adds another overseas destination to Hotel101’s expansion plans, putting a Philippine-developed hotel concept in a market known for its ancient landmarks and substantial tourism traffic.
