Filipina queen thanks supporters, defends identity, and calls for votes as MGI Allstars finale nears in Bangkok.
Filipina beauty queen Imelda Schweighart expressed her gratitude for the overwhelming support she received from her supporters at the Miss Grand International All Stars.
On her Facebook page, the Filipina beauty shared a powerful message dedicated to her followers and fellow Filipinos.
“Pilipinas, mahal kita. Maraming salamat sa pagpapalaki sa akin. Sa pagtanggap sa akin kahit na ang wangis ko ay mas lamang ang puti kesa kayumanggi. Hindi mestiza, hindi rin morena,” she wrote. “So ano?” she added.
Known for her outspoken personality, Imelda has remained unapologetically herself despite the mixed reactions she continues to receive on social media throughout her pageant journey.
“Ako ay Pilipino. Walang filter, walang pag-aalinlangan, at buong-pusong nagpupugay sa lupang humubog sa aking lakas at sining. Ang kulay ay kwento lamang ng balat, ngunit ang puso ay habang-buhay na nakatali sa iyo,” she shared.
During the two-part preliminary competition, the 56 All Stars candidates showcased their evening gown, swimsuit, and runway presentations, as well as the much-talked-about “bare face” challenge, where contestants removed their makeup on stage and were judged in their natural state.
Based on the official scoreboard released after the preliminary rounds, the Filipina queens delivered solid finishes in the competition. Gazini Ganados placed 8th with 6.34 points, followed by Fuschia Anne Rivera in 21st with 5.81, Keylyn Trajano in 26th with 5.75, Imelda Schweighart in 30th with 5.56, and Alexia Nuñez in 37th with 5.16.
The preliminary scores were based solely on each contestant’s stage performances. Colombia’s representative Vanessa Pulgarin topped the rankings with 6.82 points, while Laos’ Miranda Aengmany rounded out the list in 37th place with 4.11 points.
The first-ever MGI All Stars coronation night was held on Saturday, May 30, in Bangkok, Thailand, with Vanessa Pulgarin of Colombia as the inaugural winner.
