Despite mixed reactions from netizens about her cover of “Thinking of You,” singer-actress Jayda Avanzado proved she gave it her all, and even earned approval from Katy Perry, who wrote and recorded the 2008 hit.
On both X and TikTok, the American singer-songwriter left comments on Jayda’s upload, expressing her appreciation for the cover.
“When I’m listening to my version of ‘Thinking of You,’ I am thinking of your version of ‘Thinking Of You,’” Katy wrote on Jayda’s TikTok post.
Aside from TikTok, Katy also left a comment on Jayda’s Instagram post, saying, “thank YOU for covering it. ily,” followed by a red heart emoji.
In response, Jayda shared how overwhelmed she felt after receiving comments from the American singer and admitted that she became emotional after reading Katy’s messages.

“Katy, you don’t know how much this means to me. Thank you so much for acknowledging my cover. You’re one of my biggest influences ever as an artist and a vocalist. This means the world to me, so thank you thank you for this,” she said in her post.
As of this writing, Jayda’s “Thinking of You” cover has garnered 7.1 million views on Instagram and 7.5 million views on TikTok, where it has received mixed reactions, including backlash over her singing style.
