Kaila Estrada faces “selective accountability” accusations online.

Kaila Estrada found herself at the center of online discourse after reposting an Instagram story about youth awareness, leadership, and accountability ahead of the 2028 elections.

“Nanunuod at nakikinig ang mga kabataan… we will remember the decisions and actions being made today,” she wrote, a message that many initially praised for encouraging civic responsibility.

However, the post quickly drew criticism from netizens who questioned what they saw as inconsistency, pointing to her perceived silence on controversies involving public figures linked to her personal circle.

One viral comment read, “Nagdedemand ng accountability pero ‘di macall out ang tito ng jowa niya,” pertaining to Sen. Robin Padilla, uncle of Daniel Padilla

The discussion quickly split online audiences. Supporters defended Kaila, saying celebrities should not be attacked for sharing general pro-accountability sentiments and that allies should not be turned into targets.

“Wala naman siya magagawa sa tito ng jowa niya, si kylie na anak ba may nagawa ba?” responded another.

Meanwhile, others argued that public figures who speak about accountability are also expected to apply it consistently, regardless of personal connections. For them, the debate reflects a broader demand for equal standards when influential personalities speak on political issues.
