Ralph Novero turns Ginataan Bilo-bilo recipe into catchy ‘no AI’ track

Meet the Pangasinan musician turning Pinoy comfort food into chart-topping, algorithm-free hits.

Pangasinan-based music scorer Ralph Novero is turning Filipino recipes into catchy, musical lessons, with one ingredient he insists on leaving out: artificial intelligence.

His latest viral track, “Ginataang Bilo-Bilo, Walang Halong AI,” teaches listeners how to make the beloved Filipino dessert through a witty, naturally written song that has been making rounds across social media.

The architecture major is also behind a recipe song for sinigang, set to the rhythm of Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj’s “Beauty and a Beat.” Like his other cooking tracks, the song walks listeners through the ingredients and steps while making the recipe surprisingly LSS-worthy.

But behind the playful music is a more personal relationship with cooking.

Novero is a self-taught cook who began taking the kitchen more seriously after his mother, an overseas Filipino worker, left the country to work and provide for their family.

“Dati ko siyang ayaw,” he said of cooking. “Hindi naman sa ayaw, pero sobrang bigat na chore for me.”

In the “bilo-bilo” video, Novero got the help of his dad as he brought the recipe to life.

Now, the once-dreaded chore has become another outlet for his creativity, alongside music and film scoring.
