Kim Molina and Jerald Napoles confirm their March wedding during the media launch of ‘Wonderful Nightmare,’ opening up about love, privacy, and a film that mirrors their real-life journey.

After more than ten years of growing together both on and off screen, Kim Molina and Jerald Napoles are finally stepping into married life.

The couple confirmed that their long-anticipated wedding will take place this March, sharing the milestone during the media conference for their upcoming Viva Films project, the Filipino adaptation of the Korean hit “Wonderful Nightmare.”

The announcement comes months after their engagement in August 2024, marking what Kim described as a point of “no turning back” for the couple.

In spite of the excitement surrounding their union, Kim and Jerald are choosing to keep most of the wedding details away from the public eye, treating the occasion as something deeply personal.

“Ako po ang nag-decide nito. Tinanong din ako ni Jerald. Noon kasing proposal ni Je (Jerald’s nickname), nagulat ako dahil naunang nalaman ng mga tao bago ko i-post kasi na-post agad ‘yong full speech ni Jerald,” she began.

“So, I think itong wedding na ito, sa amin na po muna siya. But of course, ise-share po naman namin on the day,” she said.

One detail she was happy to confirm, however, is her wedding gown. The dress will be created by renowned designer Mak Tumang, known for crafting iconic looks for pageant queens such as Catriona Gray and Ahtisa Manalo. Kim also revealed that the couple intentionally waited until 2026 to tie the knot to give themselves time to save for their dream destination wedding.

A story that hits close to home

While preparing for married life, Kim and Jerald are also gearing up for the release of “Wonderful Nightmare,” directed by RC delos Reyes and set to hit theaters on February 25.

The film follows Atty. Ma. Luisa “Lui” Manuel, a tough and emotionally guarded lawyer who wakes up after an accident living a completely different life—as a housewife and mother—for one month. In this unexpected reality, she becomes the wife of Julian, portrayed by Jerald, and the mother of two children, played by Althea Ruedas and Archilles Wenceslao. The experience forces her to confront love, sacrifice, and the meaning of family.

The supporting cast includes Yumi Lacsamana, Candy Pangilinan, Quinn Carrillo, Divine Aucina, Al Tantay, Krissha Viaje, and Jaycee Parker.

‘Sobrang emotionally and physically sabay-sabay’

For Kim, the film stands out as one of the most demanding projects of her career, as it coincided with painful moments in her personal life.

“Films, whether made with Je or just by myself, they’re all special kasi iba-iba ‘yong mga pinagdaanan,” Molina said. “But with this movie, sobrang emotionally and physically sabay-sabay. While I was shooting this, may mga personal na nangyari sa life ko–may mga nawala na importanteng tao sa buhay ko, kahit ‘yong aso ko.”

Balancing grief and performance took a toll, especially with the emotional weight required by her dual roles. “Habang ginagawa ko ‘yong dalawang characters ng ‘Wonderful Nightmare,’ sobrang bigat ng emotion na kinakailangan,” she added. “May time na nag-shoot ako na kinailangan akong yakapin at i-direct kasi hindi ko ma-stop. I had to prepare myself emotionally and also know when to stop, that’s the difference nito sa ibang projects.”

‘More like a preamble than preparation’

For Jerald, playing a husband and father felt less like acting and more like a preview of the life he and Kim are about to build.

“Medyo, medyo,” Napoles said with a laugh. “Yung pinaka-training sa pelikula, yung dalawang anak namin dito. Sa totoong buhay wala pa kaming baby, may mga aso pa lang. Pero parang na-portray mo ‘yong nakikita mo sa mga magulang mo dati.”

He added: “Kapag may setup na bahay, kwarto, mga chikiting, parang, ‘ah ganito pala ‘yon!’ It’s more like a preamble than preparation.”

A place that holds memories

Adding another personal layer to the project, Kim revealed that part of the film was shot in a location deeply significant to their relationship.

“Somewhere in the Philippines,” she teased. “Isang lugar na sobrang importante sa amin ni Jhe kasi doon kami nag-date ng una na matagal. Mag-research ang fans may mga bagay akong hindi pinopost.”

As Kim and Jerald move toward marriage while releasing a film that echoes themes of love, family, and second chances, the couple finds themselves in a rare season where real life and reel life overlap, both pointing toward a future they are now ready to embrace together.
