“Queen of All Media” goes viral as C.H.I.K.A. exec in playful campaign, sparking talk of long-awaited return.

Digital streaming giant Netflix has tapped the Philippines’ “Queen of All Media,” Kris Aquino, for its latest promotional campaign, delighting fans who have long been hoping to see the television icon back in the spotlight.

On Friday, Netflix Philippines unveiled a witty social media advertisement introducing Aquino as its fictional C.H.I.K.A. (Chief Head of Insight and Kontent Analysis), playfully giving her the authority to make “bonggang” upgrades to local shows.

“Ano itong pasabog ni Madam?! Kris Aquino is Netflix’s C.H.I.K.A. (Chief Head of Insight and Kontent Analysis) with some bonggang upgrades to local shows, Krissy style,” the streaming platform wrote in its caption.

The campaign arrives amid growing speculation about Aquino’s long-awaited return to the entertainment industry. The rumors began after her longtime makeup artist, RB Chanco, posted a cryptic behind-the-scenes photo from a production set on Instagram last July 22.

“The Real Queen we’ve all been waiting for. Coming soon. K,” Chanco wrote, prompting fans to wonder whether Aquino was finally preparing for a new project.

Although neither Chanco nor Aquino confirmed the nature of the production, the teaser quickly sparked discussions online. Many interpreted the “K” and the production setup as clues that the beloved television host was making her showbiz comeback.

Fans expressed excitement across social media, with many saying they were thrilled to see signs of Aquino returning after years of focusing on her health.

“After everything Ms. Kris has been through with her health, seeing this behind-the-scenes photo is truly heartwarming,” one fan wrote on Reddit.

Others, however, emphasized that her well-being should remain the priority. “She should always have her health come first. If it becomes burdensome again, then rest,” another fan commented.

Speculation has also grown over what Aquino’s next project could be. Some are hoping for the return of her beloved lifestyle program Kris TV, while others believe a podcast would be a more practical format given her current health condition.

Aquino has largely stayed away from the entertainment scene in recent years as she continues treatment for multiple autoimmune diseases. She previously revealed that she had experienced post-COVID fatigue syndrome and suffered what she described as the “worst rheumatoid arthritis flare” in May.

Despite her health challenges, Aquino surprised viewers in June when she appeared on “Eat Bulaga!” to support her son, Bimby, during his guest co-hosting stint. During the appearance, she also hinted that she might consider guest-hosting the noontime show in the future.

Earlier this year, Aquino likewise shared plans to return to showbiz through an on-camera podcast that she intends to both star in and co-produce.
