Lovi Poe opens up on motherhood fears, says exhaustion is ‘all worth it’

“Yes, the pain of labor is worth it. All the sleepless nights, I’m still going through it and still breastfeeding and everything—it’s all worth it,” she shared.

Lovi revealed that before becoming a mother, her life revolved around work, describing herself as highly career-driven and initially hesitant about starting a family.

“If I am being completely honest, there was a time I was career-oriented and my life revolved around work. Even with my husband, I’ve been so resistant,” she said.

She admitted she once feared motherhood might hold her back from achieving her professional goals.

“There was a time na, ‘What if I didn’t get to do it? What if I don’t become the actress I still want to be? What if I don’t get to pursue my dreams and my goals because I have different priorities?’ It will happen, ‘di ba? Once you’re in love with this little thing, sometimes your priorities shift. But then you realize ambition and motherhood go well together,” she said.

The actress grew emotional as she shared that raising a child has only strengthened her determination.

“They go really well together because they strengthen each other. Before, I thought, ‘Oh, I won’t be able to do all these things.’ I want women who are career-oriented or anyone who has these thoughts to know that we all get anxious and ask ourselves, ‘What if we can’t do the things we love anymore?’ But you still will be able to achieve those dreams with the right people around you and with the right mindset. That’s one thing I really discovered about myself,” she said.

Today, Lovi said motherhood has given her a deeper appreciation for family.

Lovi married film producer Monty Blencowe in a destination wedding in Berkshire, England, in August 2023 after a two-year engagement. In October 2025, she announced on social media that they had welcomed their first child.

Her latest move to Star Magic signals another fresh start. Although she joined the Kapamilya network in September 2021 ahead of the release of the Philippine adaptation of “Flower of Evil” with Piolo Pascual, her new management partnership marks another phase in her career.
