Lysol Philippines has gone viral on social media after netizens interpreted its latest advertisement as a subtle jab at Senator Ronaldo “Bato” dela Rosa, who recently made headlines after reportedly being chased by arresting officers inside the Senate premises.

The now-viral post features dusty footprints on a staircase alongside the line: “GERMS CAN RUN, BUT CAN’T HIDE,” accompanied by the caption, “Caught in the act trying to get away! Give them nowhere to run with Lysol Disinfectant Spray.”

As of posting, the Facebook post has already garnered more than 85,000 reactions, 19,000 shares, and thousands of comments, with many Filipinos praising what they called the brand’s “timely” and “brave” marketing.

“PRO MARKETING 101,” one user commented.

“This ad is brought to you by the #oligarchs,” another netizen joked.

“Awardee for bravest marketing!!!” wrote another commenter, while another added, “The way this ad is talking, you’d think Bato was the brand ambassador.”

Others even joked about switching brands because of the post.
