Vice Ganda’s on-air quip sparks online chatter, with fans connecting the dots to a viral Senate moment.

Did Vice Ganda just throw subtle shade at Sen. Ronald dela Rosa? Netizens certainly think so.

During a recent episode of “It’s Showtime,” Vice joked about co-host Anne Curtis finally showing up on the program.

“Tinanong ko si Anne Curtis, sabi ko, ‘Papasok ka ba?’ Sabi niya, ‘Papasok ako! ‘Tas pag dumating ako dyan, tatanungin n’yo ba’t nand’on ako!’” Vice said, earning loud laughter from the audience.

Viewers were quick to connect the joke to Sen. Dela Rosa’s now-viral statement: “Pag ‘di ako pumapasok hinahanap n’yo ko, ngayong pumasok ako tinatanong n’yo ba’t ako pumasok.”

Adding fuel to the online buzz, the show later reposted an old clip of Anne from 11 years ago where she hilariously ran from her co-hosts before tripping on the stairs—something netizens immediately compared to the senator’s recent viral stumble.

On X, users jokingly wrote, “Pareho na ngang pala-absent, pareho pang nadapa,” with many calling the coincidence “comedy gold.”

But was it all just harmless “Showtime” humor, or did Vice Ganda cleverly sneak in a timely political punchline viewers instantly caught onto?
