Michael Sager addresses attitude rumors, emphasizing growth, positivity, and his focus on becoming a leading man in showbiz.
Rising Sparkle artist Michael Sager is setting the record straight, shutting down rumors about his so-called “attitude” on set.
The chatter surfaced after insiders claimed the young actor had shown unprofessional behavior during tapings of GMA Network’s upcoming afternoon prime show “Born to Shine,” where he stars alongside Zephanie, Olive May, and a lineup of seasoned performers.
But Michael is unbothered. “Well, you know, I always listen to people ahead of me, the pillars of the industry. Noong nagsimula ako, ang dami na talagang background noise at intriga. Hindi naman ‘yan maiiwasan sa showbiz,” he shared during the media conference for his upcoming horror film “Huwag Kang Titingin.”
Despite the whispers, the young star remains grounded and surprisingly grateful for the attention, good or bad.
“I’m just thankful that people are watching me, whether good or bad. Kailangan mo talagang harapin ‘yan kasi gan’on sa showbiz,” he added.
Addressing unprofessionalism rumors
Holding on to a mindset rooted in growth and integrity, Michael made it clear that he’s focused on the bigger picture.
“I’m really focused on my goal, and I know that truth will always prevail. Sometimes there will be misconceptions and rumors spread about you, but the people I’ve worked with like Papa P (Piolo Pascual) always remind me, ‘Maging mabuting tao ka lang at ang mga tao sa paligid mo ang magsasalita for you.’”
Rather than clap back at critics, Michael chooses to let his work and character speak for themselves.
“I don’t need to defend myself in terms of negativity because I know I work with positivity. I fight for what’s right, and hindi ako nagtatrabaho nang unprofessional. That’s something I value in this industry. Sometimes, I make mistakes, but we learn from them and we grow.”
He also shared that advice from seasoned stars has helped him stay grounded amid rising fame. “May mga advice po sa akin ang mga veterans na i-enjoy lang ang journey paakyat. And for me, I’m just thankful. One step at a time–I still have a lot to work on,” he said. “Work in progress pa ako, pero masaya ang progress.”
Pursuing leading man goals despite intrigue
As he continues to chase bigger dreams, Michael admits that intrigue comes with the territory.
“Siguro itong phase ko ngayon, I’m really building myself to achieve my goals to become a leading man and to position myself in showbiz. Masaya ako, and ini-enjoy ko lang ang journey,” he shared.
At the end of the day, he refuses to let negativity derail his momentum.
“Mahirap ma-distract. Sa ngayon, bihira na nga ang personal time. I just want to focus on tapings and events. Ayaw kong sayangin. Minsan ginagamit ‘yan to hinder us, but ako, I stay focused on my goals, working hard and working with the truth.”
Aside from his role in “Born to Shine,” Michael is also excited to share an eerie story in the upcoming film “Huwag Kang Titingin,” a collaboration between GMA Pictures and Mentorque Entertainment, starring Sofia Pablo and Allen Ansay, which will hit cinemas this coming April 15.
I don’t need to defend myself in terms of negativity because I know I work with positivity. I fight for what’s right, and hindi ako nagtatrabaho nang unprofessional. Sometimes, I make mistakes, but we learn from them and we grow.
